Hiring a car took us until early afternoon. Then we
started to discorver greater Chrichchurch. Our first stop
was at 'The Spit', the spot where the bay of Christchurch
hits the ocean. |
The beach is wide but not very long but it's enough for a
leisure walk. We enjoyed a tea at an nearby cafe and
spotted sun bathers under the blue sky. |
Along Lyttelton and Diamond Harbour we headed for Port
Levy and the Banks Pensinsula on the scenic road along
the coast line. Banks Pensinsula was formed by two
volcanic eruptions and has a cog-wheel shape. |
The countryside is hilly with many bays. We enjoyed this
through the very scenic route along the heights and
valleys on graffel roads. It's really treacherous! |
